Reading of Peck's Mother of Mine to Feature Kurtzuba, Heller and Woods

Actress Erin Leigh Peck, whose Broadway credits include Brighton Beach Memoirs, Grease and Dance of the Vampires, has penned a new comedy entitled Mother of Mine.

Equilateral Theatre Company will present a staged reading of Peck's play, which is based on a true story. Timothy Smith will direct the Sept. 10 reading, which will feature the talents of Stephanie Kurtzuba (Mary Poppins, The Boy From Oz), Peter McCain (Approaching Union Square), Cheryl Stern (The Women), Adam Heller (Caroline, or Change), Jamison Stern (Little Shop of Horrors), Melissa Dye (Into the Woods), Trisha Rapier (The Boy From Oz), Carla Woods (All Shook Up) and Amber Caine (One True Thing). Show time is 5:30 PM.

"When Morjean tells her husband Jack that she's ready to have a baby," Mother of Mine press notes state, "she doesn't mean she's ready to be pregnant. But before they know it the couple find themselves racing through the insane and inane landscape of a modern, urban pregnancy, until they end up in the center of a three car pileup on the West Side Highway."

The reading will be held at the June Havoc Theatre in the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, which is located at 312 West 36th Street on the first floor. For more information or to make a reservation for the reading, visit www.motherofminetheplay.com.
